Cold Range Rules

Keep it holstered at ALL TIMES!
Do not draw your pistol unless you are
on the firing line under SO supervision.
The Range is managed with Cold Range rules.  Here is a refresher on the meaning and intent of a Cold Range.  In a nutshell, a Cold Range means that ALL pistols are unloaded ALL of the time and holstered ALL of the time except when on the firing line under the direct supervision of the RSO.  NO pistol may be loaded at any other location on the range except on the firing line after the command "Shooter Load & Make Ready".

Likewise, NO pistol may be unholstered for any reason except in the Safety Area or on the firing line for any reason.  Maintaining a genuine Cold Range gives everyone peace of mind that our safety standards are the best we can make them.

We have not designed a group Safety Area since we are a small squad.  Please use the back of your pickup truck as your own Safety Area.  Do not under any circumstances point your muzzle away from the front of the bed of your truck while making your gear ready for the match.  Do not unholster your pistol for any reason after your have made ready your gear for the match.

A Cold Range provides the best possible peace of mind and we appreciate your strict adherence to Cold Range rules.

On a Cold Range, you may handle your ammunition and magazines at any time as long as you do not unholster your pistol.

Here is another excellent discussion of a Cold Range:
