ALT Range

The M4 Range is located between I-17 Exit #293 (McGuireville) and the Beaverhead Flat Road intersection.  The M4 Range is situated southwest of the Cornville Road on Forest Road (FR) 9235G where the rough forest road crosses an unnamed dry wash we call Donga Din.

The road is marginally suitable for sedans.  Higher clearance pickup trucks are much more appropriate for this rough road.   FR 9235G is accessed by opening what's called a "drift gate" at the Cornville Road. Please close this gate after you have entered and also when you leave the area.

The M4 Range is located on the "Winter Horse Pasture" of the Apache Maid grazing allotment on The Coconino National Forest.  The land is administered by Staff from the Red Rock Ranger District.  The Match Director is in regular contact with District Range Staff to make certain our Matches do not interfere with routine ranching operations.

Finally, here is yet another view of the layout of the M4 range.  Note that the red lines denote parking.  Please pull in with the fron of your truck facing away from the range area and point to the South West.  By doing so, each the bed of each participant's truck becomes their own Safety Area.  Remember, this is a COLD RANGE and all pistols must be unloaded and holstered at all times except when on the firing line under the direct supervision of the Safety Officer.  When making ready your match shooting gear, please use your own truck bed as a Safety Area and keep your muzzle pointed toward the front of your truck bed.
